some bad news to share with you.
Jon Nevett’s sister, Micki, passed away, unexpectedly at the
age of 53 on Monday. The details are below, from the obituary
in the Albany Times Union. I understand that Jon traveled to <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:State w:st="on">Florida</st1:State></st1:place> to
inform his
mother of her death, and then accompanied his mother to N.Y. for the
services.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

suddenly Monday, December 17, 2007 at St. Peter's Hospital in <st1:City
w:st="on">Albany</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">N.Y.</st1:State>
Micki was born in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Brooklyn</st1:City>,
<st1:State w:st="on">N.Y.</st1:State></st1:place> and has been
a Capital District resident for over 30 years. She received her
bachelor's and master's degrees in library science from SUNY Albany
where she previously taught as adjunct in library science. Micki was a
library media specialist at <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Westmere</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Elementary School</st1:PlaceType> and
had also been affiliated with the Mohawk Valley Library Association,
Bethlehem Public Library and <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Wallingford</st1:City>,
<st1:State w:st="on">Conn.</st1:State></st1:place> Public
Library. She had also been involved professionally with the American
Library Association, serving on its Newbury Committee, the Committee
for Notable Books for Children and the Caldecott Committee. She was a
longtime member of Congregation Beth Emeth in <st1:City w:st="on">Albany</st1:City>,
where she served as librarian for the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Children</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Religious</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceType w:st="on">School</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> and
was made a trustee of the congregation this year. She is survived by
her loving husband, David Galletly of Slingerlands; devoted mother of
April Galletly of New York City; daughter of Evelyn Nevett of Lake
Worth, Fla.; sister of Jonathon Nevett (Karen Post) of Rockville, Md.
and Wendy Bazil (Paul) of Kensington, Md.; aunt of Rachael, Danielle
and Michael Nevett, Ted and Madeleine Bazil. She was predeceased by her
father, Stanley Nevett. Services at Congregation Beth Emeth, <st1:address
w:st="on"><st1:Street w:st="on">100 Academy Rd.</st1:Street>, <st1:City
w:st="on">Albany</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">N.Y.</st1:State></st1:address>
on Wednesday, December 19, at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in the <st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Beth</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Emeth</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Cemetery</st1:PlaceType>, <st1:place

service of interment, and on Thursday evening with a service each
