I can't really speak on behalf of the task force I'm on (we're barely
communicative about issues that we have considered, never mind ones that
we haven't) and as a CIRA Board member, it would be inappropriate for me
to speak on behalf of CIRA.
Speaking on behalf of Tucows, we're in favor of increasing registrant
privacy and decreasing burdensome and interfering IP specific
regulation. Inasmuch as this policy moves in this direction, we're a
happy backer. We'll be preparing a more formal review of the policy
proposal and presenting our feedback to CIRA as part of the public
commment period that just opened up. I'd be happy to share this input
with the constituency if there is any interest.
