Re: [registrars] Domain renewal spamming
We receive complaints from confused angry customers almost daily regarding this. Has anyone heard about how they send out an email asking to visit a link to confirm the customer's correct email address? The link is actually a transfer confirmation. We are seriously considering corrective action on behalf of our customers.I find it hard to believe a Registrar is not aware of this type of deceptive use of their DNR Reseller facilities. -Chris At 10:27 AM 3/9/2004, Larry Erlich wrote: Eric Brunner-Williams in Portland Maine wrote: > > > The Domain Registry of America ... > > Looks like its that time of year. As you can imagine, because of the similar name, we get a fair amount of calls from people that want their $85 or $25 refunded for a transfer that doesn't go through. It seems that they immediately charge a credit card upon placing the order and only refund money if specifically asked and after a waiting period. At least this is what I am told by their "customers".
