Update on GNSO toolkit
Following circulation of the draft to the ISPCP list an email has now been
sent to Rob Hogarth, copied to the CFO requesting a budget allocation is
considered to enable the ISPCP to provide some toolkit items independently,
where they are not currently directly available. Constituency members will
be made aware of any response received.
ISPCP budget submission
This issue is being progressed in conjunction with the CSG budget Committee.
As discussed during the ISPCP call held on 14th November, the Constituency
plan to submit a request for funding in the next fiscal year to cover
- Secretarial support
- Travel for officers
- Communications materials
- Outreach
- Expenses for Constituencies
The 7th December deadline has now been extended for specific requests for
activities not already included in the reoccurring ICANN budget. A template
has also been provided which now requires submission by 20th January 2012.
Its planned that each request will be reviewed by a member of the Finance
within 48 hours of receipt for a first review to either (i) clarify elements
of the request if need be, or (ii) acknowledge receipt. All Additional
requests will be aggregated for review and selection. A placeholder
"additional requests" envelope will be included in the Framework for a total
of US$0.5m for all requests. As previously agreed, the initial submission
will be drafted by Tony Holmes and Olivier Muron.
Response to NomCom
A response to the request from Vanda Scartezini Chair, of this year's
Nominating Committee, to help establish selection criteria in line with the
ATRT Recommendations is still outstanding. Olivier Muron will contact Tony
Harris with a view to producing a first draft and circulating for comment.
GNSO outreach activities
There is currently concern over the scope and purpose of the both the GNSO
outreach and the broader approach being promoted by ICANN staff. All CSG
Constituencies currently undertake their own outreach activities and are
seeking additional budget support to continue with that approach which has
proved successful in engaging with local communities at ICANN meetings.
Currently the fit or overlap between the various approaches is unclear.
ICANN staff have organised conference calls on 13th December to discuss
their proposal with members of the SO/ACs. Constituency members will be
updated as this issue is progressed.
Travel arrangements for Costa Rica
It was not possible to determine which Constituencies members will receive
travel support from ICANN for the meeting in Costa Rica on this call. This
will now be progressed by email in order to respond back to the GNSO
secretariat
Issues from GNSO Council
This item was not progressed as GNSO Council representatives were not on the
call.
Date of next call
A doodle will be circulated with possible dates.
