[ispcp] SECRETARIAT: Agenda item, ICANN MoU RFC
Many thanks to Alain Bidron for reminding me of the request for comments on ICANN's MoU. Many of you know that the MOU between the US Department of Commerce and ICANN is set to expire on 30 September 2006. The NTIA is seeking comment on the progress to date of the transition of the technical coordination and management of the Internet DNS to the private sector: http://www.ntia.doc.gov/ntiahome/frnotices/2006/NOI_DNS_Transition_0506.htm Commerce has provided a list of suggested questions to guide responses. Two other related documents bear on this issue: The statement of principles issued last year: http://www.ntia.doc.gov/ntiahome/domainname/USDNSprinciples_06302005.htm And, the ancient DNS White Paper from 1998: http://www.ntia.doc.gov/ntiahome/domainname/6_5_98dns.htm Mark McFadden Secretariat, ISPCP Constituency |
