So why do we take such care to prevent authorized, legislated, official or established censorship? The answer is clear - we as a global society hold certain truths inalienable.
We abhor censorship and hold free speech as a human right.
So why are we so ready to allow the most insidious denial of free speech free rein over our human right? Harassment, intimidation, written attacks, insults to your intelligence and even national bigotry are here and they are just as much a censorship of free speech as is any "officialdom" curtailment. You have Columbine and terrorists that make it clear that this type of denial is as dangerous as sanctioned book burning.
Once again; So why do we not have such a prohibition in our draft rules? My suggestion is, because of those very same techniques as discussed about. Members are intimidated by the few who would mock, degrade and insult.
If any would have suggestions, they may make them on list and make the private to Debbie and I so as to avoid entanglement.
