Re: [ga] IDN evaluation by ICANN (Was: Sponsorship of IGF Workshops
Dr. Baptista and all,
You and I as well as any intelegent observers of ICANN, knows
that nonsense is, and always has been a stalwert of ICANN. Good
marketing and PR can work wonders in selling the ignorant any
nonsense. So it has been with ICANN's PR machine. However
some of us are wise enough and have the knowledge of history
to recgonize nonsense when we read it or hear it. Newbe's don't,
unless they really do a their homework very well.
Old P.T. Barnum discribed it this way:
"If you put horse manure in a fancy bottle, and tell women it is good for
their hair well enough, they will line up for miles to buy it."
Kinda like the recent iphone situation by AT&T.
Anyway, from where I sit this is intentional deceptive marketiing/PR,
and ICANN should be above that sort of nonsense, as the after all
are a Public servicer corp.
As always, thank you Dr. Baptista for sharing your wisdom with
us.
