Roberto and all,
I would argue that the argument you suggest is a straw man,
in that ICANN refused Scotland a ccTLD on strictly political
grounds and as Haiti is terrorist state, aiding and abetting such
in any way is internationally on very shaky legal ground. And
I don't believe Debbie shares this as being expectable, nor do
I believe do most of the stakeholders/users or registrants
of the free world with the possible exception of Bulgaria.
I am sure that the USTR will be reviewing this ICANN
decision, as will the Home secretary in GB with some
significant concern. And unless I miss my guess, I believe
the Canadian govt., will also be taking a very close look
as well.
