Subject: [ga] WHOIS/ Wgs in general
As we participate in the GNSO wg for Whois I think we should be forming our own here.
Same people who participate there should participate here. Obviously we can rubber stamp that which is agreeable to both but I think we should be prepared to point out differences that we as individuals have with the constituency based wg.
I have my eye on individuals that hold privacy in the highest regard and believe that we are the most appropriate body to represent those interests.
It should be noted that our wgs should not require/reflect that much of a departure from our established character. We simply will organize our posts better and make some adjustments to come up with position papers rather than just discuss the issues. And thereby create a voice for us that will be more sustainable and recognizable within and without ICANN.
I still view this Chairman position as facilitator and a voice only reflective of mandates, great and small, derived from this list.
A review of posts on Narten's weekly list, indicates a growing wide base of participation. Thanks to all who do participate. We are growing again.
Eric
