Re: [ga] FW: Fee for disproportionate deletes in proposed .biz contract

Elmar,
the funny thing is, that I responded to the question, but it seems people are more interested in the "juicy" discussion, not in the response to Danny's question. And as you may note, my response is based not on my thoughts, but on documents.

And if someone has asked me for my "opinion", I would have given it earlier. But I was asked for "guidance", and that is what kind of made me go into all details. Are we talking about bottom-up or top-bottom process here? Where are the solutions, provided by the community? I can tell you about problems around ICANN, which probably you don't even notice. But I want to hear the community provide solutions, not problems. If the community can not provide solutions, that's not good.

Yes, you can ask one Board member, but as I can't and shouldn't speak on behalf of ICANN, my opinion, and not guiadance (why do you need a guidance from a single board director???), would be given in a response to your previous message.

Veni,

your self-conception about an ICANN director seems to me, let it say it politely, a little bit odd ;-)

If someone asks you about *your* opinion as an ICANN director regarding ICANN matters, then it is in my view not the appropriate answer to say "please ask the president". You are responsible for your decisions and you have to give statements to your community; which BTW has voted for you.

To hide between the netiquette and other excuses is not what the community needs here.

Best regards,
Elmar
