Aaaargh. No. No.

You didn't quote where I said "contact PCH for facts surrounding the arrangements",
which apparently - someone did.

Okay, some clarifications:

PCH does not operate any root nameservers. At all.

PCH operates a global anycast CDN. PCH hosts a number of DNS operators on
that CDN. Autonomica is one of those. Some of Autonomica's servers,
which they operate, completely independently, receive transit and physical
hosting from PCH on that network. Most of their servers are hosted in
other ways, independent of PCH. PCH does not operate I root. PCH does
not operate B root. Most of what we provide hosting and transit of, the
vast majority by far, is TLDs. Not roots. And we don't operate those,
either.

We're not a DNS operator. We're a not-for-profit, which coincidentally
operates a CDN, and tries to help people who find it useful. We don't
operate DNS for people.

Summary?

- PCH operates a content delivery network
- root servers are paying customers
- tld's are paying customers
- a root server and multiple TLD's can be serviced by any anycasted instance of the CDN

How many i-root locations are actually PCH CDN machines?

Thanks for the insight.
