As I was stunned by Veni's YES vote, I was waiting to see the justification.

It turns out Veni has been blinded to many of the "settlement"'s 
implications, failing to mention them altogether in his blog entry.

The other director that stunned me with his vote was Demi Getchko.

Can you explain your vote, Demi?
