Subject: At-Large Structure Application
Danny Younger:
Members of ICANN?s Interim At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) reviewed
your application for ?At-Large Structure? (ALS) designation and
determined that it did not meet the criteria for ALS certification
(<http://www.alac.icann.org/framework.htm>).
If you believe this decision was reached in error and have additional
information to share, please contact us. You also may submit a request
for review to ICANN?s Ombudsman if you feel you have been treated in an
unfair manner under the applicable ICANN policies
(<http://www.icann.org/ombudsman/>).
The purpose of ALS certification is to recognize that a group meets the
necessary criteria to involve individual Internet users at the local or
issue level in ICANN activities, and that the group will support its
individual members' informed participation in ICANN efforts that affect
end-users. If you create or join a group comprised of individual
Internet users interested in ICANN involvement, the ALAC encourages you
(or the group with which you are involved) to re-apply for ALS
certification.
We also hope you will consider being involved in ICANN At-Large in
other
ways:
- ICANN?s Nominating Committee appoints members of the ALAC from each
geographic region and seeks candidates each year
(<http://www.icann.org/committees/nom-comm/>);
- Individuals with the requisite knowledge and experience are
encouraged
to volunteer to represent At-Large on ICANN task forces developing new
policies and addressing issues of interest to end-users (contact us for
more information);
- Input on issues pending in ICANN that affect the Internet?s end-users
is regularly sought by the ALAC via its website, email announcements,
and forum <http://www.alac.icann.org/>.
Thank you for your interest in ICANN At-Large.
Sincerely,
The Interim At-Large Advisory Committee
