Oops,

Silly me I guess I jumped the gun, as in starters' pistol shooting blanks.
Now all of you can rush out and nominate me.
(strange how, whoever is in charge, does not post whatever is posted on the ICANN site here)
It is up to Ms. St. Gery' (who is the sweetest thing since EP) to get it done.
If you want some fun exploring, go look at the mandate that keeps this list running and Ms. St. Gery posting here. Names Council and ICANN by-laws seem to dictate that my list remains.
Dang i did again and called it my list. Now look at the budget and figure how much they spend just to keep my list running. You can't. ICANN has no line item budgeting. Good for a nonprofit charitable 501 (c) (3) that obtains most of its money through fees rather than donations. Well if you get that far you will find why they must keep my list open for me.

If that sounds convoluted and ranting or raving, get your butt up and do three things;
1. Take that geek on your kids soccer teams dad, the accountant, out for lunch and ask her or him - you never know these days.
2. Call TSA at 858-614-1831 and cross check their tax advice with your lawyer. (now you will realize why corps cannot donate to ICANN anymore lest they go Martha Stewart on them)
3. Here is the hard one and it takes the time to write two emails. Write your EU rep or Congress person about this - easy just forward this message. Next nominate Richard, Eric, Jeff, Sotiris and Danny to these positions. (again, just forward this posting and fill in some blanks for nomination)

OTOH, I begin our process here and ask for endosements here for Danny, Jeff, Richard and Sotiris. Yes I know I am shameless - a Texan Jew, a New Yorker that speaks Viet, a Canadian Greek and a English Socialist - Well don't worry I got a New Mexican Navajo and a Mongolian NeuroSurgeon, a Saudi Sheiks son and daughter pair and my neighbor, the Somalian Painter if you don't like those picks.

Come on people nominate somebody.

http://www.icann.org/announcements/announcement-13jun05.htm

ICANN's Nominating Committee (NomCom) announced today that it has
extended its deadline for Statements of Interest to 20 July 2005 (23:59
GMT).

The 2005 Nominating Committee began its work in March of this year and
is actively seeking qualified candidates for the following key positions
within ICANN:

The ICANN Board of Directors
The Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council
The Interim At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC)
The Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO) Council

Those individuals selected by the Nominating Committee will have a
unique opportunity to work with accomplished colleagues from around the
globe, address intriguing technical coordination problems and related
policy development challenges with diverse functional, cultural, and
geographic dimensions, and gain valuable insights and experience from
working across these boundaries of knowledge, responsibility and
perspective.

Selection criteria, eligibility factors, roles of each position,
application procedure, and contacts are posted at:
http://www.icann.org/committees/nom-comm/formalcall-22apr05.htm.

Statements of Interest may be sent to nomcom-submissions@xxxxxxxxxx
Submissions will be handled confidentially and should be received by
23:59 GMT on 20 July 2005 for full consideration. Statements of interest
should be submitted as e-mail messages and NOT as attached files.
