I am not worthy to speak or be listened to in such matters, I am only a washer of the feet.
I am only a side effect of the good graces of man which derive their grace from elsewhere.
I am only a Buddhavahista level one, I am but a lowly lay minister of Anglecan nature, and a passing scholar of the great one Mohamed, and a child of the Spirit Mother of Arizona and the four corners of our world.
However it is called upon me as it was called upon Saul who became Paul who was honored by Paul II and who communicated greatly to our Solidarity brothers and our Santanista cousins and our Shiite friends to lay in verbage that which is known even to our brethren in communism.

Communication will set us free from the yoke of tyranny. No good woman can hear my cry and remain silent. Rabi hear our cry! For one girl child who cannot hear or speak is worth my life tenfold. One Kurdish boy denied access to information is a death upon me and mine. I do not speak from wisdom or a conviction but from knowledge that what I have, so shall others have.
This thing called freedom is a tender mercy that is not ours to give but ours to assure others have a right to. I do not pretend to know how evolution changes my great rocks into stone or majestic fish into creatures that walk upright or of such things like a BANG THEORY or Adams sin or Eves deception. But I know that I have a right to learn such matters. My Internet gives me a freedom that no other prodigal son has imagined. I am here and I am now and I can learn and learn to learn through knowledge empowered to me through the Internet.
Each of us is a church unto themselves. They can gather anywhere anytime and believe, as my father, in agnosticism and medicine and save lives or destroy them. Of pray and gather healing strength as I may as a channel through Jesus Christ and our St. Luke ministry, or not, or whatever - communication is the rubicon and the safety net, ignorance is disaster.
But, communication is the key - to our lives and the lives of your children.

I am sorry to pontithicate but Saint Paul II has affected and effected my life greatly.

Apostolic Letter from Pope John Paul II sent on 24th January 2005 "to those responsible for communications":

"I would like to recall our attention to the subject of media access, and of co-responsible participation in their administration. If the communications media are a good destined for all humanity, then ever-new means must be found ? including recourse to opportune legislative measures ? to make possible a true participation in their management by all. The culture of co-responsibility must be nurtured.

"Finally, there cannot be forgotten the great possibilities of mass media in promoting dialogue, becoming vehicles for reciprocal knowledge, of solidarity and of peace. They become a powerful resource for good if used to foster understanding between peoples; a destructive ?weapon? if used to foster injustice and conflicts....

"The great challenge of our time for believers and for all people of good will is that of maintaining truthful and free communication which will help consolidate integral progress in the world. Everyone should know how to foster an attentive discernment and constant vigilance, developing a healthy critical capacity regarding the persuasive force of the communications media.

"To those working in communication, especially to believers involved in this important field of society, I extend the invitation which, from the beginning of my ministry as Pastor of the Universal Church, I have wished to express to the entire world ?Do not be afraid!"

"Do not be afraid of new technologies! These rank ?among the marvelous things? ? inter mirifica ? which God has placed at our disposal to discover, to use and to make known the truth, also the truth about our dignity and about our destiny as his children, heirs of his eternal kingdom.

I don't ask members of the list to acknowledge the Pope's religious beliefs, or indeed to endorse any religious belief at all. However, I find these words worthy of reflection, particularly with reference to ICANN's mission:

The Media: "co-responsible participation in their administration".

"If the communications media are a good destined for all humanity, then ever-new means must be found ? including recourse to opportune legislative measures ? to make possible a true participation in their management by all. The culture of co-responsibility must be nurtured."

A true participation in the media's management *by all* ...

That sounds like the case for the At Large, and its restoration to the ICANN Board?

Yrs, in Jesus Christ, and with respect to other faiths, and those with none,

Richard H
