I thank Michael for his desire to interact, and also for this gem: "One of the worst things that could happen... is having a Board that is out of touch with its stakeholders."

Ah, that is why the Board expelled the elected representatives of the At Large, then?

Come on, Michael! You say *nothing* about the At Large, and even less about mechanisms to involve and enable individual users to determine for themselves the structures, policies and representatives that should be sitting on the ICANN Board at the heart of decision-making.

As usual, individual users are frozen out of the process.

And yet they are the numerically greatest group of stakeholders of all.

"One of the worst things that could happen... is having a Board that is out of touch with its stakeholders."

But what, pray, are you going to propose with regard to the At Large?

Do you favour the restoration of At Large Directors on the ICANN Board?

Do you favour the restoration of individual users' right to vote and decide for themselves who should represent them, through a vote of individual users?

Until ICANN addresses this issue, it is out of step with what the majority of the At Large wants, and out of touch with its greatest stakeholders.

with kind regards,

Richard Henderson

***the expulsion of the elected At Large directors is ICANN's open wound which won't go away - it subverts ICANN's worldwide credibility - Individual Users cannot feel they are being respected by ICANN when it has expelled their chosen representatives - the world regards ICANN's mandate as inadequate, and only the worldwide At Large can really provide ICANN with a credible mandate that could silence ICANN's rivals***
