Hi folks,
According to:
http://www.icann.org/en/news/public-comment
"Each public comment topic (opened from 1 January 2012) is subject to a Comment
and a Reply period as follows:
The official minimum Comment period is 21 days.
The official minimum Reply period is 21 days."
However, the WHOIS reform public comments were summarily shut down, and moved
to "Recently Closed", without apparently having the required
"Reply Period"
http://www.icann.org/en/news/public-comment/closed
By the rules, it should be moved back to the page at:
http://www.icann.org/en/news/public-comment
with the Reply Period Close Date being September 27th or later.
This appears to be yet another attempt by ICANN to silence widespread
opposition to a hare-brained scheme, by cutting short the required public
comment periods.
Sincerely,
George Kirikos
