Content filtering is difficult to achieve successfully and requires
constant diligence as well as adjustment accordingly.
Seems though that Facebook although their stated policy against porn, is
falling far short of the mark in actually
preventing porn and/or banner ad's promoting porn on their respective web
pages and/or patrons Facebook pages.
Other service providers of various sorts could do more here as well but
many feel as though it isn't their responsibility
to do so, and they have a good point in that feeling. We are also
unfortunately seeing promotion of Facebook use
by the very organizations, mainly various Christian organizations and
Christian educational institutions indirectly
promoting or are patrons of Facebook, for instance see:
http://www.facebook.com/LUHelpDesk That's not walking
the "Christian Walk" IMHO. Others opinions may of course very in this
aspect.
