Eric and all,

I believe your refrencing this story:

<A
href="http://www.circleid.com/posts/white_house_calls_for_a_meeting_with_domain_registrars_registries_and_icann/";>http://www.circleid.com/posts/white_house_calls_for_a_meeting_with_domain_registrars_registries_and_icann/

If so, seems that HHS has but a bug in the Presidents ear that there are far
too many bogus

domain names being used to sell or market counterfeit prescription
medications, which has

been a problem for several years now, and due to the emphisys on the changes
in recent

legislation dealing with health care, the cost of 'filtering out' these
websites/domain names has

gotten so high that the President is looking to ICANN registrars and
registries to take more

proactive action and do some good policing. Seems to some including
myself that ICANN's

SSAC should have been doing this for some time, but have failed to take up
that effort and/or

responsibility. Lets all hope that Steve Crocker and company at
ICANN's SSAC will be able

to assist ICANN's Registrars and Registries in cleaining up their collective
acts appropriately

in this area/issue of interest to everyone. After all we don't want
Uncle Sam to have to step

in with greater weight and have the USDOJ step in and do an investigation on
all of these

Registrars and Registries, now do we? After all I am sure that with
Steve's personal relationships

with many of the principals of ICANN's Registrars and Registries, that he
can convience them to

be more forthcoming and aggressive in assisting in dealing with the
Intelectual Property violators

and other sorts of counterfeit prescription medications
scammers.

So let me take a moment and in advance thank Steve Crocker and
ICANN's SSAC, as

well as ICANN Registrars and Registries in assisting in taking a bite
out of Internet crime! >:)
