Oh, please. There's so much for which MS can be blamed, why falsely
blame them for this?
MS has always offered free viewers for Word, Excel, Powerpoint and
the like. As "viewers" implies, you can only view in them, not edit
existing stuff or compose new stuff; but as much as I dislike MS,
facts are facts, and your fact is just plain wrong.
