Internet Freedom versus Security. Nice match up. Security does not stand a
chance. That is like matching up human inginuity versus USSR.
We also see that our good government folks in Iran are gonna get you if they
catch you using the internet to get together with like minded intellectuals who
want to discuss the direction of strict religion in politics.
But who am I to throw stones --- in my own empire I outlawed online chat and
gaming until homework and chores were done. I am rather sophisticated in my
censorship technique - I unplug things.
Sometimes life and politics are really not complicated at all. China either
gets with the program or their people are going to start understanding what
they are being deprived of and then change is rapid. This cyberattack was a sad
glimpse at fustration.

All,

An alleged cyberattack by the Chinese government into systems operated by
Google
and other U.S. companies, including federal contractors, has prompted the U.S.
government to revisit the complicated issue of Internet freedom.
Seems that yet again the government via the US Military got
caught with their pants down. Not surprising from my experiance
and due to the fact that for nearly 10 years now I and many other
security professionals have been warning various government
agencies to get up to speed and do it NOW.
Google also unfortunately as I and many other security
professionals have warned were hacked as well. Again Google,
espeically it's Gmail service/product line is, and has been
hugely vulnerable to attack and need not be so. But alas,
again warnings to them to get their security act together
for several years has failed. When will they learn?
Respectful regards,
