I do not normally say mean and nasty things but sometimes when it is just so
blatant you have to call a spade a spade and not a trowel. Doug Brent is lying
here:
"
ICANN is really two things. First, a public benefit nonprofit, private sector
led
corporation organized under the laws of the State of California and
headquartered
there. Second, ICANN is a global organization of stakeholders, including
participants
from across industry, governments and individual Internet users.
(italics added)
I think I can speak well to this issue. ICANN does not allow us individual
users to participate. NCUC and ALAC are cases on point.

Hi folks,
Just a reminder that the hearing in DC on new TLDs starts in less than
an hour (at 10 am Eastern time).
One can watch the webcast live via the September 23rd link at:
http://judiciary.house.gov/hearings/calendar.html
and read the prepared statements at:
http://judiciary.house.gov/hearings/hear_090923.html
As an experiment, I've created a little free chatroom via TinyChat.com
if some others in the ICANN community might want to text chat during the
hearing. See:
http://tinychat.com/newtlds
Sincerely,
George Kirikos
