Here at the meeting -- Doug Brent's testimony solid and respectful.
Heath of INTA says that trademark holders care about consumers, and
wants another economic study (presumably until they get the results
they want).
Paul Stahura of eNom quotes Henry Ford, "If I asked my customers what
they wanted, they would have said -- 'a faster horse.' ". Makes a
lot of sense about competition.
Del Bianco of NetChoice tries to drive a wedge between IDNs and Roman-
character gTLDs. Quite a showman, very slick, trying to get laughs
with Mark Twain quotes.
Questions from members.
Chairman Johnson - is ICANN going to implement IRT recommendations?
Brent - new DAG will include at least two recommendations -- thick
Whois and post-delegation review.

Hi folks,
Just a reminder that the hearing in DC on new TLDs starts in less than
an hour (at 10 am Eastern time).
One can watch the webcast live via the September 23rd link at:
http://judiciary.house.gov/hearings/calendar.html
and read the prepared statements at:
http://judiciary.house.gov/hearings/hear_090923.html
As an experiment, I've created a little free chatroom via TinyChat.com
if some others in the ICANN community might want to text chat during
the hearing. See:
