Clearly a ccTLD has clear dominion over its domain. I wonder how many people
would be offended by the following domains: bookburners.ie, censorship.ie,
prudes.ie, muslim.ie,
christian.ie, breastmilk.ie, poopoo.ie for ie.ie

All,

So now ICANN is facing a similar dilemma. What to do?
Seems we have come full circle again... So round and round
we go, and where we stop nobody knows! But at least it keeps
lawyers and policy wonks working. As for what that actually
produces or value in human endeavor and behavior is realized,
of course remains to be seen. Seems to me such is more
make work than good works.

An Irish adult website has blogged about the
http://www.sex.ie/mod/groups/topicposts.php?topic=158&group_guid=155
Irish domain registry banning adult domain names, including porn.ie and
pornography.ie. The IEDR's reasoning is that the words 'porn' and
'pornography' are offensive and immoral. Of interest is how Sex.ie took
legal action against the IEDR and proved that neither word is offensive
yet still lost the case, as the IEDR are the highest authority in
Ireland when it comes to deciding what is and isn't an offensive domain.
