The UN is a very bad idea. To even suggest they are or could be competent in 
this area could only come from ignorance based fear of something else, or an 
agenda based on instability of the net.
 
OTOH the concept that ICANN should strictly be a standard setting org, is self 
justifying.

to such goals?
