All,
For those that have long awaited or thought of seeking funding
for projects and/or government contracts, seems that the UST's
window is open for the asking/grabbing. Bring a sack? >:)
JFC and Joop, heres your opertunity to get funded for your
respective organizations! JFC, in your case, perhaps for your
France@Large, you can temporarly assign a US envoy to submit
your proposal for the Grab-Bag of US$ in establishing a liason
office in Wash. D.C., and perhaps even on K-Street right next
to Vints new digs! Than you two can have lunch together and
call it a business meeting, every day, and good old Uncle Sam
will pick up the tab! What a deal, eh!?! Additionally you can
glote at knowing as a tax payer, I'm picking up at least part of the
tab, all be it indirectly... Now wouldn't that be a hoot?! >:)
Oh yes, I almost forgot to add, Eric, you'll also get the dubious
pleasure of knowing your also picking up part of the tab as well! >:)
I hope your properly pleased at having the opertunity!?!

Welcome to our series called "Federal Sales." This newsletter is the
seventy-eighth installment in a series of e-mail newsletters about
current topics relating to federal sales. This series joins our other
popular newsletters, "Advanced Proposal Writing" and "GSA Schedules," in
a weekly rotation.

Installment 78 - Recent Developments in Federal Contracting
------------------------------------------------------------------------
State and Local Government Use of GSA schedule Contracts: Recently the
Administrator of the General Services Administration (GSA) recommended
that Congress authorize state and local governments to use all of the 53
GSA schedules in making purchases. Currently only the Information
Technology schedule and Total Solutions for Law Enforcement schedule are
authorized for use by state and local governments. State and local
governments will ultimately receive the funds for infrastructure
development under the federal bailout initiative. Congress might look
favorably on the Administrator's recommendation because it could create
jobs faster.
Obama and Federal Contracts: President elect Obama has said that he will
cut down on the number of federal contracts. Most likely he will cut out
a few bad apples, call for more visibility and increased accountability,
and implement contractor ethics reforms. The federal government cannot
operate without contracts and jobs cannot be created quickly under the
new bailout initiatives unless the federal government relies heavily on
contractors.
