[council] REMINDER: Call for Volunteers -- GNSO Review Working Group
Dear GNSO Councilors, This is a reminder of the Call for Volunteers for the GNSO Review Working Group. Please see the announcement at: https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2016-07-27-en. ; Please note the following from the announcement: “Each GNSO Stakeholder Group and/or Constituency will identify one primary and one alternate member to serve on the GNSO Review Working Group. In addition to these appointed members, anyone interested will be able to join this working group as a participant or observer.” Please also note the following from the Charter under Membership Criteria: “Each GNSO Stakeholder Group and/or Constituency will identify one primary and one alternate member to serve on the GNSO Review Working Group. Stakeholder Group and Constituencies are asked to identify members that have knowledge of and experience with the GNSO Review and/or GNSO operating procedures and/or processes (for example, previous members of the GNSO Review Working Party and current members of the SCI).” The main difference between members and participants is that ‘Consensus calls should involve at a minimum the Stakeholder Group/Constituency appointed members’. This is similar to the format that has been used for the transition-related CCWGs in which the appointed members have a specific co-ordination role as well as decision-making role in relation to the recommendations. Staff have received several volunteers for participants and observers, but thus far none are clearly identified as primary or alternate members from a Stakeholder Group or Constituency. Please let us know if you have any questions concerning the Call for Volunteers or the GNSO Review Working Group. Kind regards, Julie Julie Hedlund, Policy Director Attachment:
