Re: [council] For your review - GNSO Liaison to the GAC Call for Volunteers
Wolf-Ulrich, the intent of the Consultation Group was that the representative is reconfirmed in the role each year but I agree that it is not necessarily clear as currently written. Of course, it is up to the Council to decide whether to agree with this approach or propose modifications to the review / renewal process. I¹ve only a comment regarding review and renewal. Here we should clearly distinguish between the role of the liaison and the representative filling the liaison. ³The role is reviewed and reconfirmed by the GNSO Council in its position every year² is not clear to me. Either we want to confirm the representative or not. This should be discussed. We could also discuss whether to do this annually or on a longer cycle. Furthermore you will find also attached the evaluation sheet that was used by the GNSO leadership as part of the previous selection process and which is expected to be used for this round as well. If you have any comments and/or concerns, please feel free to share these with the mailing list. The idea is that the Council confirms during its next meeting its intent to convert this pilot project to a permanent role following which the call for volunteers would be published as Mason Cole, the current liaison, has indicated that he is not available to continue in this position beyond the end of his term at the end of June 2016.
