RE: [council] Dublin prep
Volker:
Additional feedback from BC members after we raised this with them--
· With respect to the IRP for .Africa, what steps is ICANN going to
take to make sure that ethical violations will not occur and applicants will be
considered on a level playing field?
· An update from the Board or CEO regarding the creation of “guidance”
concerning ICANN enforcement of the 2013 RAA (Alan Grogan had indicated that
this was being worked upon).
I hope that additional input is helpful.
Very best, Philip

Volcker:
I just asked BC members to provide feedback to Laura and me on this.
Meantime, I suggested these two possibilities in that email--
1) GDD-- will it continue to use new gTLD registry contract as its starting
point for renewal registry agreements with legacy gTLD operators, or does it
now understand that issues like URS are policy matters that should proceed via
PDP once staff issues report on RPMs is received this fall?
2) GAC--open exploration of future role of governments within ICANN based on
governmental responses submitted for July Paris meeting
Best to all,
Philip
