Re: [council] GNSO Council Action Items - 5 June 2014
Dear Councilors, Following up on the action item accompanying Item 5 (draft Charter for the IGO-INGO Curative Rights Protection Mechanisms PDP), please share your and/or your SG/Constituency¹s comments and suggestions relating to the draft Charter so that an updated version can be presented in London. For your convenience, the draft Charter is attached to this email. As noted on the Council call, the draft Charter: (1) enumerates specific tasks and considerations listed in the body of the Final Issue Report for the WG, including the need to conduct research and obtain updated data; (2) specifies outreach to other SO/ACs including the GAC as well as to interested IGOs and INGOs to encourage participation; (3) recommends WG tracking/monitoring of developments in relation to GAC/GNSO/Board dialogue on the remaining IGO-INGO PDP WG recommendations not yet adopted by the Board; and (4) limits the PDP scope to only those IGO & INGO identifiers specified as eligible for second level protections by the IGO-INGO PDP WG.
