Dear Councilors,

You will recall that the Council approved the formation of a new
Cross-Community Working Group (CWG) Drafting Team (DT) at the October 2013
Council meeting, following which Jonathan reached out to the other SO/AC
Chairs to invite participation from their communities in the new DT. As John
has indicated in his note about the upcoming ccNSO Council meeting, the
topic will be on the agenda for their January meeting. The ALAC has
responded with the names of three volunteers, who staff has added to the
mailing list. The new DT will likely convene for its first meeting at the
end of this month or in early February.

As such, it would be helpful if you could inform your respective groups
about the DT and solicit volunteers for it. In addition, and given that the
new DT will be working from initial documents prepared by the original GNSO
CWGDT in 2012, it would be greatly appreciated if you or your groups can
confirm if the DT members listed on the group's wiki will continue to
participate in the new DT: https://community.icann.org/x/qAfPAQ
<https://community.icann.org/x/qAfPAQ> (note that while staff has updated
the list to reflect the fact that some original DT members are no longer
Council or active GNSO members, we have not deleted any other names, and a
few on the list have since taken on new positions or work within the GNSO).

For your convenience, the new call for participation was included in the
latest issue of the ICANN Policy Update for January 2014:
http://www.icann.org/en/resources/policy/update/update-jan14-en.htm#9.
Please feel free to circulate the link!

Thanks and cheers
Mary
