- Thread-topic: Alternate Model Trademark Clearinghouse Call on October 9th, 9 am Eastern US Time
All,
As most of you are aware, ICANN posted its proposed implementation model of the
TMCH earlier this year, with the most recent drafts posted on September 24,
2012
(http://www.icann.org/en/news/announcements/announcement-7-24sep12-en.htm).
For a number of months, several registries and registrars have been working on
an alternate mechanism for implementing the Trademark Clearinghouse at least
with respect to how the Clearinghouse interacts with the gTLD Registries and
Registrars. A paper discussing the issues presented by the proposed ICANN
implementation model along with our proposed alternate Sunrise and Trademark
Claims models has now been posted by ICANN at:
http://newgtlds.icann.org/en/about/trademark-clearinghouse/sunrise-model-26sep12-en.pdf
http://newgtlds.icann.org/en/about/trademark-clearinghouse/claims-model-26sep12-en.pdf
http://newgtlds.icann.org/en/about/trademark-clearinghouse/model-issues-26sep12-en.pdf
ICANN has graciously volunteered its resources to host a call on October 9th at
9am Eastern US time for the authors of the alternate models to discuss our
models and rationale. We wanted to make sure that you all were aware of the
call as well. This call will be good preparation for the meeting in a couple
of weeks in Toronto.
I hope that ICANN will send out a more formal announcement about the call. But
just in case they do not, here is the call-in information that ICANN has given
me.
Conference ID: 93759
Dial-in numbers for each country: http://www.adigo.com/icann/
Adobe Connect Room at: http://icann.adobeconnect.com/tmch/
If you have any questions, please let us know. I have included the other
authors on this email chain as well.
Best regards,
Jeffrey J. Neuman
