Olof,

Holding off is the right thing to do Olof.  I was trying to stop the confusion 
as quickly as possible but that didn't work.  

It is critical that a decision like this never be handled in this manner again. 
 And it is totally unreasonable to expect the GNSO to compact an already 
cramped process into an even shorter time frame without concurrence from the 
GNSO.  I agree with others that extensions are common and generally good but 
doing so without comparable extensions for other deadlines should not happen 
without agreement that those impacted can live with the changes.

I had specifically requested 45 days for GNSO processes and that was granted.  
Moreover, the process the Council approved was fully public so it should not 
come as a surprise that we required time to implement our endorsement process.  
Unfortunately, all that seemed to be completely ignored in the decision to 
extend without extending the corresponding deadline for SO/AC endorsements.
