Subject:  GNSO Work Prioritization Final Value Ratings

At its 23 June 2010 meeting, the GNSO Council approved a 
resolution<http://gnso.icann.org/resolutions/> to adopt a set of Work 
Prioritization Value ratings for 14 Eligible Projects[1] that were reviewed and 
discussed during a special working session held in Brussels, Belgium at the 
June 2010 ICANN meeting.  The Council's Value Ratings may be viewed at:  
http://gnso.icann.org/drafts/ (see Table Entry for GNSO Work Prioritization).

Background/Explanation:
At its 21 April 2010 meeting the Council approved the use of a new Operating 
Procedures Chapter 6 and 
ANNEX<http://gnso.icann.org/drafts/wpmg-section-6-and-annex-09apr10-en.pdf> for 
conducting its first Work Prioritization effort and a multi-step timetable 
culminating in a Council group rating session in Brussels, Belgium at the June 
2010 ICANN meeting.  The following table summarizes the four major steps of the 
timetable and the dates on which each activity was completed.

Next Steps:

In subsequent meetings, the GNSO Council will continue to discuss and analyze 
the Work Prioritization initiative including identifying specific procedural 
improvements as well as determining next steps in enabling the Council to 
perform its vital role as manager of the Policy Development process.

[1] There were 15 Eligible Projects originally identified; however, during the 
19 June 2010 Council session, the IDNF project was determined to have reached 
closure and was transferred immediately to "Ineligible" status.
