Dear Tom:  You may have heard that my wife was in the hospital.  Here's an 
update:

Just a quick report on Jane's recovery.

She is much more alert now, her pain is less and she is less sedated.

She is awake longer periods of time and chats and jokes with us, can feed 
herself.

She is running an irregular heart beat.  While it is mostly too fast, the 
cardiologist advises that it drops to too slow from time to time.  Such can 
cause her to faint.  Therefore, they are going to provide her with a 
special pacemaker.  This pacemaker will only cut in when her pulse is too low.

The doctor says that the slow heart beat can cause her to be dizzy or to 
fall.  Such could explain the two falls she has had recently.  The first 
one was on 7 August, the second last week last Tuesday, the 26th of August.

As a result, the cardiologist will be installing a special pacemaker which 
will cut in if her pulse drops below the red line level.  That surgery will 
be with local anesthesia and at about 4:00 PM today.
