Danny and all former DNSO GA members or other interested
stakeholders/users,

Again Danny missed my point entirely. Not all that surprising, however.

The point being stated a bit differently Danny is that the BoD is a
public
servant, non-elected body in non-profit california corporation
contracted
to DOC/NTIA with requirements to the public in which it serves. Hence
therefore, Vint or any other BoD member need not be convinced of
anything, but act in accordance with the wishes of the Internet
community.
The only outstanding proviso to that is what is the "Internet community"

and whom comprises same?

Therefore Vint or any other BoD member need not be "Convinced"
of anything but does need to know what the wishes of the yet to be
accurately defined or excepted, "Internet Community", are. Than
act accordingly. WE as members of the Internet community have
a responsibility to be sure that ICANN and all it's BoD members
know what our wishes are and follow thru to be sure that the BoD
acts in accordance with those wishes. Hence a means of effecting
this adequately, which still does not exist as part of ICANN's
structure nor is a unfettered means of providing said input/wishes
available or allowed by the ICANN Bod and staff to date. Hence
no bottom-up decision making mechanism that is unfettered and open
leads to no bottom-up decisions.
