[ga] ICANN approves .RS domain

BELGRADE -- The Serbian National Register of Internet
Domains (RNIDS) has announced that ICANN approved
Serbia?s application for the .RS domain.
 
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and
Numbers (ICANN) envisages the transition from the .YU
domain to .RS being complete by September 30, 2009.

According to ICANN?s decision, activation of the .RS
domain is expected by the end of the month. 

RNIDS for its part will soon open a public debate on
proposals for a rulebook on the registration of new
domains and the transition from .YU to .RS.
