Re: [dow3tf] TR: Task Force 3 Schedule

On 1/21/2004 9:39 AM Brian Darville noted that:

At a call of the Task Force Chairs with the Bruce Tonkin last week, the following schedule was adopted for the Task Forces' work:

It is highly unlikely that the Registrar Constituency will be able to meet several of the important dates on this timeline. Our bylaws require a minimum of 21 days to adopt or reject a proposition as a constituency position. The timelines below would provide us with 28 calendar days to adopt a position on the work of the task force (starting immediately) and a mere 20 days to adopt a position on the preliminary task force report. In both cases, this does not provide us with sufficient opportunity to properly draft, propose and submit a formal position statement on behalf of the constituency.

I mentioned this at the last meeting and would like to request that the committee of chairs reconsider this timeline by providing all constituencies with, at minimum, a full month to prepare, adopt and submit key documents that should be formally adopted by each constituency and also sufficient advance notice of the upcoming submissions so that constituencies can properly plan their work in advance.

Week of Jan. 20, 2004 â Request Constituency Statements on TF Work
