[council] Re: Message from PPSAI WG chairs

Hello Phil and everyone,

The idea, as I understand it, is that instead of having its ³usual" 75-90
minute community-facing session where normally a Working Group invites
community discussion on issues under consideration and may also present its
initial recommendations or current thinking the PPSAI WG will have a
2-hour (or longer, possibly 2.5 or even 3 hours depending on need) meeting
during which it works through the public comments it will have received,
especially on the trickier and more contentious issues. In contrast to the
separate, facilitated, face to face meeting (which is closed to non-WG
members) and to take advantage of the fact that the working session will
occur during the ICANN meeting, community members can attend and
(presumably) may also have the opportunity to comment on particular items.

To avoid conflict with other ³standing² ICANN meeting items such as the
Compliance update and GDD sessions, not to mention the GNSO¹s own meetings,
we are at the moment hoping to secure a Wednesday afternoon slot for this
session, to follow the GNSO Council open meeting.

Thanks and cheers
Mary
