 Hello Sophia,

        - review external influences - e.g alternative roots (both ASCII
and IDN
based), search engines, tld (cctld and gtld) registry
competition,
growth in Internet users that are non-English speaking and users
that
        use different character sets.

We will not be discussing IDNs in detail as a separate topic, but merely
identifying that it is an influence on the new gTLD discussion.

Note IDNs in the root would be a type of new gTLD. Given that there
are presently no IDNs in the root has led some groups establishing
alternative roots to provide that function (not necessary compliant with
the IETF RFCs for IDNs).

Regards,
Bruce
