Asian Prospective of Internet Governance: New Developments – Hong Xue, ccNSO NomCom Councillor
Regional IGF and many other new initiatives are emerging in Asia and the Pacific to facilitate the multi-stakeholder discussion on the Internet governance and its future development. New stakeholders, as well as the developed ones, are becoming more actively engaged in ICANN and other global fora. Many capacity building programs, new or old, are offering support to the AP community.

What do the recent SSAC reports actually say? – Patrik Fältström
SSAC recently released reports SAC064 on Search List Processing and SAC065 on DDoS Attacks Leveraging DNS Infrastructure. Patrik will (try to) explain why these two reports are important for registry operators.

VerifiedID@SG: Mitigating Identity theft in .sg registrations – Ryan Tan, .sg
In order to enable convenient and immediate registration of a domain name, the industry norm globally is not to perform identity verification during the registration of domain names. However some registrants exploit this convenience to perform identity theft or provide fake identities. Such exploitations are also often precursors to other abusive uses of domain names. VerifiedID@SG is a pre-emptive effort that makes use of a SingPass (Singapore Personal Access) to verify the identity of sg1 registrants and mitigate identify theft in .SG domain names.

The New Zealand Internet Task Force (NZITF) is a non-profit with the mission of improving the cyber security posture of New Zealand. It is a forum based on mutual trust for debate, networking, information sharing, and collaboration on matters relating to the cyber security of New Zealand. This talk will cover the background and events that led to the creation of the NZITF and it's evolution over the last six years. This will include information about the New Zealand "security landscape" and NZITF initiatives.

In Beijing, .ru shared information about the fight lead by .ru in cooperation with large service providers and industry leaders against malicious domain name registrations, malware distributors, spammers and other 'bad guys'. Finland's Government's proposal for Information Society Code – Kirsi Sunila-Putilin, .fi
On the 30th of January Finland¹s Government submitted its proposal for Information Society Code to Parliament which includes changes to the present Domain name Act http://www.lvm.fi/en/home

The proposed new legislation changes the present law significantly:

  1. registration of domain names possible only through registrars (at the moment direct registrations are possible)
  2. anyone can be a holder of a .fi domain name (at the moment the holder must have a connection to Finland)
  3. warehousing domain names for the purpose of redelivery will not be forbidden anymore
  4. a domain name consisting a person's first and last name will no longer be protected
  5. the dispute resolution process can be done via e-mail always
  6. the registrar becomes responsible for its information security and is obliged to inform FICORA of any information security incidents or threats

Calzone.org Service for TLDs – Andrew Barrett, Calzone.org
We have recently launched a service at Calzone.org for all TLD registries. The service is initially focused on the launch of new TLDs. However, we are also making it available to any ccTLD Registry that would like to communicate any news and events about their TLD, such as policy changes, eligibility changes, support for new IDN's, etc. We would like to explain how ccTLD Registries can take advantage of this new resource.

Becoming the National Hub of TLD Operation and Servives in the New gTLD Era – Xiantang Sun, .cn
We would like to share our experience of exploring new business in the upcoming new gTLDs. Now CNNIC is the only ICANN approved EEBERO and Data Escrow Agent in the Asia Pacific Region. We are also simultaneously offering services as TMCH agent, back-end registry operation provider and internet root server operator. Some of these services are new in the entire ccTLD community. We would like to share how we accommodate this different functionalities and achieve success in the new gTLD era.
