Highlights
The greater Internet community will travel to Durban for the ICANN 47 meeting in July of 2013. Having visited Cape Town in 2004, ICANN participants will again experience the great culture and excitement of South Africa. This second trimester meeting is likely to continue with a focus around the implementation of the new gTLD Program and the milestone achievements required for the first delegation. More details can be found at the Durban meetings page, including information about registration and travel arrangements.
Selected as the first ICANN meeting for 2013, the Internet community converged on Beijing at an important time for the new gTLD program. Participants collaborated about results of the Initial Evaluation phase for the new gTLD Program, with the community also receiving the much awaited advice from the Government Advisory Committee. Beijing was an exciting venue for the GNSO and we wish to thank our hosts, CNNIC. In addition to the meeting, many participants took time to also appreciate the culture of China with its varying activities of its time-honored history.
